Honda Vietnam has introduced the SH Mode 2027, a scooter built to comply with EURO 4 emission standards while preserving its distinctive design and urban functionality. Unveiled on September 18, the model reflects the company’s dual strategy of enhancing internal combustion technology while advancing its electric mobility ecosystem. This approach aligns with Vietnam’s national ambition to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, positioning Honda as a key player in sustainable urban mobility. The launch also shows the brand’s commitment to “Move Like an Icon,” blending iconic styling with practical upgrades for daily commuting.

Redesigned styling and cleaner operation

The SH Mode 2027 keeps the recognizable S-shaped silhouette of Honda’s SH series but introduces a restyled front end, featuring LED headlights with decorative lighting and a chrome trim. The design incorporates jewelry-inspired lighting details and a three-dimensional SH Mode logo embossed on the body, reinforcing the model’s premium aesthetic. New paint choices include Vanilla White and Pearl Jupiter Grey for the Sporty trim, Pearl Nostalgic Green (paired with a gold SH Mode logo) for the Special edition, and Pearl Snowflake White for the Standard model.

A 4.2-inch TFT display replaces the traditional analog gauges, delivering sharper visuals and a color interface for enhanced readability. Engine refinements include an upgraded fuel-injection system to optimize combustion and an improved exhaust emission control system, which targets carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides—key contributors to air pollution and fine particulate matter. According to the company, these changes enable more effective control of these pollutants. The eSAF frame, renowned for its lightweight yet robust structure, continues to support daily urban commuting.

Enhanced rider protection and utility

The SH Mode 2027 incorporates several practical upgrades for city riders. A front-wheel anti-lock braking system improves stability during abrupt stops, especially on slippery roads. The Smart Key system now includes an ignition-on alert, and the front storage compartment gains a USB Type-C charging port, complementing the existing 18.5-liter under-seat storage. These enhancements align with Honda Vietnam’s broader vision, as articulated by General Director Sayaka Arai, who emphasized the company’s role in delivering “reliable, future-ready mobility” through both electrification and ICE advancements.

This launch supports Vietnam’s national goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The manufacturer positions its strategy as a transitional step, improving current engine technology while preparing for broader electrification. The scooter will go on sale beginning October 2 through Honda’s authorized dealership network, known as HEAD.
