Welsh holiday park joins spooky family fun across UK - spooky family events
Golden Sands Holiday Park in North Wales will host 31 Days of Halloween festivities from 2 October to 1 November 2026.

Away Resorts will revive its 31 Days of Halloween festivities across the UK, with Golden Sands Holiday Park in North Wales among ten venues hosting the month-long event from 2 October to 1 November 2026. The initiative, following last year’s positive reception, blends family-oriented activities designed to entertain rather than frighten, featuring trick-or-treat trails, pumpkin workshops, and themed gatherings.

Among the highlights are the Franken-slime GOO Laboratory, where children craft their own slime, and Potions & Smells, an interactive workshop for aspiring witches and wizards. A new addition this year is Hocus-Pocus Pottery Painting, allowing participants to decorate ceramic pumpkins and vampire figures for keepsakes. Families can also engage in pumpkin painting and carving before displaying their work at the Halloween Jam-BOO-ree costume parade.

Young children will enjoy Bear’s in the Woods and Play Tots Showtime, while older kids can attend the Kids House Party: Brain Rot Invasion! dance event. Additional offerings include Halloween Tie-Dye, Boo Crew HQ role-play adventures, and Tricks & Treats experiences. The Boo Crew team will lead families through the park, distributing badges for completed activities, with the top reward being a “licence to scare” certificate.

This year, the programme expands to ten holiday parks, including Newquay Bay in Cornwall, which joins for the first time. At Sandy Balls Holiday Village in the New Forest, guests can explore the Forest of Light, an illuminated woodland trail with lively lighting effects operating daily from 5pm to 10pm. Another attraction is The Enchanted Cauldron, where visitors gather around a fire to add “Witches Dust” and create colorful flames. Extended activities at Tattershall Lakes and Sandy Balls will continue until 8 November, beyond the main event period.

The Trick or Treat Treasure Trail invites families to follow clues around the park to collect treats, with Halloween characters appearing along the route. For those preferring music, DJ Bones will host a Halloween silent disco, featuring spooky soundtracks and party snacks. The October half-term break coincides with the celebrations, providing families with a themed getaway option.

Activity availability and schedules vary by location, with pricing starting at £606 for a three-night stay at Tattershall Lakes (based on a Comfort Lodge accommodating six) or £909 at Sandy Balls (based on a Heartwood Lodge sleeping seven). Additional details, including booking information and entertainment guides, are available on the Away Resorts website.
